The giant aluminum sea turtle sculpture gifted by Gulf Coast Community Foundation to the City of Venice now has a name. Thanks to the creativity of a local student, the turtle is affectionately known as 'Speckles.'

Solar Nonprofit Brings more ‘Green’ to the Region
Gulf Coast Community Foundation has teamed up with Solar United Neighbors (SUN) again for another area solar co-op that launched March 11. The new Manasota Solar Co-op is open to residents in Manatee and Sarasota County—and like the previous area co-ops, it’ll provide the support and resources for homeowners and small business owners to go solar.
