I3 Workshop: Grant Proposal Writing: A Tutorial

Friday, September 20, 2024
Sarasota Philanthropy Center
1549 State Street, Sarasota

This workshop takes an in-depth look at each section of a grant proposal, including examples of weak and strong narratives. Throughout the session, participants will apply presented concepts to their own projects. The result will be a draft outline from which to complete the post-workshop homework assignment: development of a boilerplate proposal.

Within 2-4 weeks of the workshop, each participant will receive a 1-to-1 follow up session with the instructor for proposal review and coaching to strengthen their strategy. Facilitated by I3 Consultant Whitney Crettol, MA, it is recommended that newcomers first complete Introduction to Successful Grant Writing or have some familiarity with grant writing.

This session will be limited to 15 participants, one person per organization. The course fee of $335 includes workshop plus 1-to-1 coaching with up to four hours of consulting time to establish a boilerplate proposal.

I3 Workshop: Developing Budgets That Add Credibility to Your Grant Proposals

Friday, November 1, 2024
Venice Headquarters
601 Tamiami Trail S, Venice

Proposal budgets are often left for the last minute and fail to receive the same level of care devoted to narrative components of a grant application. However, these numbers play a key role in reinforcing the story being conveyed in your proposal narrative. A well-crafted budget adds credibility by representing the true cost of a project, showing how funder support will leverage other investment, and demonstrating your organization’s sustainability. Facilitated by I3 Consultant Whitney Crettol, MA, in this workshop you'll cover

  • How to identify and estimate project expenses
  • Calculating indirect costs
  • Representing sources of income
  • Budget presentation tips
  • Role of the budget in post-award grant management
