Meet the Class for Our Winter 2018 Gulf Coast Board Institute

Gulf Coast Community Foundation has selected 27 nonprofit board members from across the region to participate in the next class of our Gulf Coast Board Institute.

These volunteers will take part in four half-day interactive training sessions over a five-week period beginning February 2. Topics covered in the course include the basics of nonprofit board governance, financial and legal oversight responsibilities, and organizational planning.

“The responsibilities of nonprofit board members are significant and non-negotiable, yet many volunteers have to learn those responsibilities ‘on the job,’” said Dr. Mark S. Pritchett, president and CEO of Gulf Coast Community Foundation. “One of the most important things we can do at Gulf Coast is to help ensure that our nonprofit partners have access to highly skilled and knowledgeable individuals to serve on their boards.”
