Gulf Coast Named To National List of “Best Nonprofits To Work For”

Gulf Coast Community Foundation was the only community foundation in the country named to this year’s “Best Nonprofits to Work For” list compiled by The NonProfit Times (NPT).

Best Nonprofit to Work For

Gulf Coast placed 26th on NPT’s Top 50 list and ranked eighth in the “small organization” category (15-49 employees). The NonProfit Times, a leading business publication on nonprofit management, has produced the comprehensive evaluation for the past seven years.

“Recognition, trust, and support” are critical to the make-up of the best nonprofits to work for, according to the 2017 report, which was published in the latest issue of NPT.

The survey and awards program is designed to identify and honor exemplary employers in the nonprofit sector that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for their employees. In turn, these employers benefit the sector’s economy, workforce, and businesses.

Work Hard, Play Hard, Transform Region

“We work hard and play hard at Gulf Coast,” said Mark Pritchett, president and CEO of Gulf Coast Community Foundation.  “The work ethic here is inspirational, and it helps our region thrive.”

Nonprofits from across the country participated in a two-part assessment to determine this year’s “Best Nonprofits To Work For.” The first consisted of evaluating each nominated organization’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, and systems. The second component was a confidential survey to measure the employee experience. The NonProfit Times partners with Best Companies Group to conduct the annual survey and analysis.

Gulf Coast was previously honored by NPT in 2010 and 2011.
