Hurricane Florence: How to Help

Our community has a tradition of generously responding to disasters through charitable giving and service, whether those disasters strike our region or beyond.

In response to Hurricane Florence, several of our colleague community foundations in the Carolinas have activated disaster funds to support those affected by the unprecedented storm. For donors who wish to support response, relief, and recovery efforts, you might consider these organizations that will be actively involved in their communities’ efforts:

Foundation for the Carolinas – Hurricane Florence Response Fund
Donations to the Hurricane Florence Response Fund will be directed to nonprofits in North and South Carolina providing relief to victims of the storm. Grants will be distributed to areas of greatest need once the full impact of the hurricane is realized.

North Carolina Community Foundation – Disaster Relief Fund
All funds raised for the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund will go directly to nonprofit organizations serving the needs of local individuals and communities in the impacted areas of North Carolina.

Community Foundation of the Lowcountry – Disaster Recovery and Rebuilding Fund
The Disaster Recovery and Rebuilding Fund provides resources for emergency needs in the four-county service area of Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton, and Colleton counties in South Carolina.

Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina – Disaster Relief Fund
This fund is designed to support long-term recovery efforts in areas affected by disaster, as well as immediate relief efforts.

Waccamaw Community Foundation - Disaster Relief Fund
Waccamaw Community Foundation serves as the primary point of financial donations for all disaster relief and recovery efforts in Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties in South Carolina.
