Gulf Coast Family Mourns Stephen V. C. Wilberding

We are deeply saddened to share the news that Stephen Van Cortlandt Wilberding passed away June 11 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded with the love of family and friends.

Stephen V. C. Wilberding

Steve was a longtime Gulf Coast donor, dedicated former Board member, and beloved husband of previous Gulf Coast CEO Teri A Hansen. Teri and members of their respective families were beside Steve throughout this difficult time.

In a message to donors, Mark Pritchett, president and CEO, said of Steve, “He was a brilliant, brave, and generous man who served his country, his community, and his family with honor, dignity, and care. We all are better off because of his unselfish service.”

He added, “Steve Wilberding embodied the best of philanthropy, and we would do well to follow his examples of service and love.”

The Stephen V. C. Wilberding Memorial Fund has been established at Gulf Coast to accept donations in memory of Steve and distribute gifts to his favorite causes. To make a contribution to the memorial fund, please go here.
