Deming to Take New Role as Chief Operating Officer at Selby Gardens

With a mix of heavy hearts and warm wishes, Gulf Coast Community Foundation will soon bid farewell to longtime staff member Wendy Deming.

Wendy, Gulf Coast’s chief operating officer and corporate secretary, has accepted the role of chief operating officer at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. She will begin that new position in early July.

Wendy will remain in her role with Gulf Coast through June 20, and she has graciously offered to assist the foundation during this transition. Gulf Coast’s management team will reassign her duties until a replacement is named. If you visit our office or see Wendy in the community in the coming weeks, please join our Board and staff in thanking her for all she has done for our region in nearly 18 years of service to Gulf Coast!

“Wendy has been very much the heart and soul of our staff,” said Dr. Mark S. Pritchett, Gulf Coast’s president|CEO. “We are sad that she is leaving, but we are excited to see her help lead the continued transformation of Selby Gardens. Gulf Coast couldn’t ask for a better community partner to benefit from Wendy’s abilities in the next phase of her career.”

Selby Gardens has marked significant growth in the last several years, with double-digit percentage increases in admission, membership, donations, and event and retail revenue. The institution recently announced the creation of a master site plan that will redevelop its 15-acre bayfront property over the next 10 years.

“Wendy will no doubt help Selby Gardens further strengthen our organization with sound practices as we continue our growth and expansion,” said Jennifer O. Rominiecki, president and CEO of Selby Gardens.
