Civility Squad Grants

Civility begins with our daily interactions—in our schools, our workplaces, and our day-to-day lives.

Gulf Coast Community Foundation invites you to foster civility in our community by joining The Civility Squad. How? By initiating your own civility program or activity where you learn, work, or gather!

To help you do it, we are awarding Civility Squad Grants as part of our Because It Matters initiative. These “mini grants”—up to $500 each and available through February 2018—can be used to help your group or business implement a sustainable project to promote civility.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Guidelines and other details for Civility Squad Grants can be found here, but these are the basics:

•    Applying is easy: You simply need to answer a few questions and briefly summarize your project, including a plan for sustainability beyond the grant.

•    Think big, small, or in between: Our grant (up to $500) can cover all or part of the expense of implementing your civility project—you decide on the scope.

•    Act now: Be prepared to launch your project within four weeks of receiving your grant.

•    Show us your stuff: If your grant is funded, we want to see (and share!) a brief video of your civility program in action.

•    Everybody gets a (civility) kit! Each grant comes with a “Civility Tool Kit” of collateral materials available to support our initiative.

WHEN YOU WIN, WE ALL WIN

Our mini-grant program is about empowering your ideas rather than competing with one other. However, there is a finite amount of funding available. We expect to award at least 50 Civility Squad Grants by February 2018. The sooner you apply, the sooner you can implement your idea!
