Recent Grant Recipients

April 2008

Child Protection Center - $500,000 to support its "Pillar of Hope" campaign to construct a 20,000-square-foot Child Advocacy Center, which will enable the CPC to expand its child-abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment services and more effectively collaborate with state and local agencies on issues of child abuse and neglect

Diocese of Venice - $10,000 to restore the roof of Epiphany Cathedral Parish's Mercy House, which provides temporary housing to area residents in need

Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Sarasota-Manatee - $150,000 in support of its capital campaign to expand its offices by 6,000 square feet in order to meet growing need for its programs and services. This grant will be matched by a challenge grant from the Schoenbaum Family Foundation.

Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida - $100,000 in support of its capital campaign to construct a 23,000-square-foot regional headquarters, which will enable the organization to expand its reproductive healthcare and prevention education services and programs

Sarasota County Health Department - $200,000 to support renovation and expansion of the North Port Health and Family Service Center in order to vastly expand primary care services for a growing population of uninsured and medically underserved residents of southern Sarasota County

Wellness Community – Southwest Florida - $250,000 to support its "Buildng Hope" capital campaign to construct a new 10,000-square-foot facility with surrounding healing gardens to better serve those affected by cancer in Southwest Florida

Since it was founded in late 1995, Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice has awarded grants of more than $76 million in the areas of arts and culture, health and human services, education, civic affairs, and the environment.
