About the Future Fund
Name a community cause that matters in your life. Wonder how many of your peers care about the same thing? Wish you could leverage that interest to make an even greater impact than you could by yourself? You can through the Future Fund.
What is it?
The Future Fund was established at Gulf Coast Community Foundation to encourage the next generation of philanthropists in our community. It gives young professionals a way to learn more about local needs, meet new people, and pool their charitable dollars to help the causes and organizations they care about.
Generous donors Jeremy and Philippe Schwimmer helped establish the fund with the vision of an online environment where passionate minds share ideas about issues that matter. Then, in the same virtual meeting place, the group decides, “This is what we should fund.”
How does it work?
The Future Fund is based on the concept of a giving circle—with a 21st century twist. Young professionals are invited to contribute at least $100 to the fund, then we all connect online and offline to collectively choose which causes or organizations to support.
